Cultural differences.
There's a big cultural differences between west and my country. For example in the west if u tell a guy that his gf is hot, that would be a compliement to him,and he would feel proud.I was proud too hearing that from my colleques in London and my answer ussualy was "yes she is hot but she is not for u!"with smile. But here in Azerbaijan ,if u tell a guy that his gf or his wife is hot,he would beat u up cos he would think that u wanna fu*k his wife.
In the west if u tell someone that he is funny that would mean that he is cool guy.But in my country that would be an offensive word like u r funny as a clawn.
What odd cultural differences ur country got with other countries?
Yeah, also talking about farts in my country is rude and tasteless topic. But in the west its quite hot topic

FOLK PSYCHOLOGY. So it depends of your spiritual level and character.
smart answer, Rum
summer has said it all about Indonesian culture so I can only add that public display affection like hugging, caressing or even kissing your lover or your spouse in public places aren't common things to do here
Going out with friends,at the restaurant...pay of what u ordered.Even though its your bf/gf....but of course it depends if she/he is willing to pay it all
Gratuity (tip) ... "don't forget to tip the waitress/waiter" ... in the US, the typical amount given to a service person is 15% of the bill.
If your dinner bill is $20, you would tip the waiter $3.
This is similar for a taxi driver, hair dresser (stylist, barber), and so on. Like most things here, this isn't formal... more or less is given by some but most follow 15% as being what is normal and expected of them.
What's the custom there?
