I just had to blog for opinions on this....

So I'm sure you all remember I had a date recently that didn't pan out so well...but that was all good. We've been talking since as friends and that's it and I'm fine with that. But today, he said to me that his boss was single and interested in meeting me. So I said, fine, it's whatever....couldn't hurt to meet people, right? Then he proceeded to tell me, "He's a great 'dude'.....he's good looking and he's loaded" ...I said to him, really? Why do you feel the need to tell me that when I've already agreed to meeting him, do you really think I'm that shallow?" Obviously the man doesn't know me too well. But anyway, so this man calls me. We talked for maybe 15-20 minutes on the phone and I had to ask because he sounded a bit older. "How old are you, anyway?"....that's when he started beating around the bush a bit, bragging about what kind of person he is and about all the things he's still capable of doing at his age and how he loves to drive fast in his sports car, yada yada yada...so I asked yet, again....but how old are you, be honest with me. After muttering a bit, he said "70". I'm sorry, I had to cut the call short. My mother is 70 years old and I have absolutely nothing against older men, but the reality is I am a young 39...and that's a HUGE generation gap for me. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but, yes....age may be just a number, but I'm sure there has to be some kind of limitations here.

So then my former "date" texts me back and said, so how'd the call go? I said, what were you thinking? The man's 70 years old. He said to me, well he looks about 45-47....max 50. Even sent me some pictures....which indeed he is right about that. But still, that "70" lingers over my head and I can't seem to get past it. Then he tells me that this man is tired of women using him so the age he told me wasn't accurate. So I'm thinking, the man lied to me when he's actually younger than 70? or is he older? Or is my new found "friend" just saying that the man lied about his age to do his boss a favor?

I don't know, do you think I'm really being judgemental of an age or realistic. Think about it, though. If in fact, the man IS 70....that is over 30 years my senior.
