sometimes i,m a idiot... but sometimes only !!

today ...on my balcony ..one of the tenants here who is a elderly person was getting mail from his mailbox...he struggles when i see him do this...this time i kept and eye on him because he was not really balanced and seemed unsteady....just as i thought he was going to full he grabbed a fire hydrant..so i ran down stairs and ask if he needed me to help ...he ask if i could help him to his apartment...as i entered his apartment he ask me to take him to his room so he could lie down.....he said thank you ....i said that it was fine ...and if he needed anything ...to let me no....

as i was walking out i started to think about my own situation and was overwhelmed of how i felt empty for this person his apartment was almost empty...dont think he has family that visits him.this has been playing on my mind in the last few hours.....

Ah Market that is so true for over here too, many lonely elderly but some hard as nails as they say and soldier on not realizing with help their lives could be so enriched. Hard to help someone who is so independant they would (die) literaly before acceptingmoping moping teddybear

Market
I totally agree.
Market I am nearing that end of the scalemoping so I see it more than you when you are retired you take different things in as more time on your hands.
The only thing I can say IN MOST CASES what we see and feel sorry for when you chat to the person they do not see it that way.confused The are content with the status quo and feel just as angry as I do because the know the end is not far away. Although some wish it was nearer they say they have had a good innings but they do not want to be here anymore AND THEY MEAN ITmoping moping teddybear

Market-
What about this:- when you get ur post, get his too and shove it under his door. When you make some food and there's some left over, go give him some. Look up a good joke site and re-write one a day out in big letters (in case he had eyesight issues)and put that under his door.. You never know what a joke a day , a nice something to eat and mail at his door might mean to him. He, although older than you has the same dreams that you do, to have someone that cares....And with age comes wisdom- who knows what you might learn from chatting to him once in a while?

Much love to us all..

When it comes to the elderly, I admire the Asian culture where they are well looked after by their relatives...especially their own children until death knocks....thumbs up thumbs up
Market!

You are a good man. I can say with out contradiction that God put you in this mans path so you can help him.

And I know you will!
When i look to my own country.. we have had some cases where cops found elder people in their houses or appartments.. they were dead for months, nobody noticed they weren't around anymore. It's sad that some people must spend their last years all alone, it's a price we appearantly pay for our western society. Some just shove their parents into a home when they become to dependant, only to visit them maybe once or twice a year. Some seem to have forgotten how much their parents did for them when they were growing up.. How much sacrifice our parents have made for us. Is it really that hard to sacrifice some of our time, some of our efforts to those that have done so much for us? My parents are now early 70's both in reasonable health, and i know as long as i am alive, my parents will never be alone. No matter how busy or hectic my life may get. I will always make time for them.
aw market... hug comfort bouquet
