Wise words from a homeless man!

I had some coffee at my favorite eating hangout this morning and as usual I read the load of newspapers for customers.

In one of the papers I came across a story about a homeless man in the Los Angeles skid row named Elzie Alexander whose life was not good at all roaming from job to job and all the time dreaming about being a comedian.

An open mic opportunity at a local bookstore brought this man his chance and he was pretty successful because he performed quite a show with his repertoire.

At the end of the article he made this quote to the writer.

"There's nothing wrong with not having anything. A lot of people don't have anything. But if you don't have anything planned, then thats when depression sets in. If you don't have a light at the end of the tunnel, then you got nothing".

You are right! You must seize the moment!

Boban!

I am truly honored that you commented since I regard you and a few others truly funny guys with a great sense of humor! And you are correct. Luck plays a big role in your life. Since I am a Christian I call it Jesus knocking on your door with the answer. But whatever people call it then use it!
Ed, I have always found that the light at the end of the tunnel was the headlamp of an oncomming train. . . .rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Hi Ed wave

> For the least stress, focus only on the present.

> Thinking of the past tends to bring thoughts of regret.

> Thinking of the future tends to bring thoughts of hope and opportunity.

I know these things aren't true all the time but this seems to be the way it usually works. I'm a big fan of finding enjoyment in the present and thinking (sometimes dreaming) of the future (tomorrow or next year or whenever...). cool
Maybe yesterday there was no light, but all the time something drives you ahead, gives you energy...carpe diem.
Frank!

Good one! That got a good chuckle from me!

Richard!

Always right on my friend! Good to hear from you!

MIA!!!!!

My Christian sister. I am honored to have YOU comment. There is always a LIGHT!!! And we know who HE is!
I always say the hope dies last, as long is hope is always light at the end of the tunel.

Ed
in business there is a saying that works well in life as well.

"If you fail to plan, You plan to Fail"

very apt dont u think.
Yes, Ed, very wise words. Sometimes you get stuck, trying to figure out what to do next when your previous plan fails and you haven't really learned from the experience because nobody made it clear why the plan failed. But that light at the end of the tunnel really does inspire you to try something different...

And with that, I think I'll go do some work... blushing
Gorgeous Laz!

I'm a Christian that loves the Lord more than anything. Before anything else I love to praise the Lord and going to church, I like to go dancing and fishing.
