ALL suggestions considered...

I have written before that my sister who lives with me has terminal cancer. Yesterday she moved into hospice house. We have lived together for 12 years. I used to live alone before, but made terrible choices with men and substances. Don't want to go there again. Now the house is empty and soon, too soon she will be gone. How do I go about reinventing myself without slipping into the familiar sudective traps?

You are much older, more experienced, and more educated in what paths to take & avoid. Find the strength within and put one foot in front of the other towards paths that will reward you.

As for the your sister go, give yourself a date as for how long you should grieve . I would say you seem great to me , for having your head on straight . I will ansewer that with don't change a thing!teddybear

Lace, first I offer my condolences. As to your question, I highly recommend a book called "Boundaries in Dating". It's awesome and very healing. It's written by Dr Henry Cloud and Dr John Townsend.

I also recommend "Straight Talk, No Chaser" by Steve Harvey.

Apart from that, socialize. Join a group, get out with people.

thank you everyone for your kind words and support. Thing is....I am a mischievous person and even tho older Jim, don't know if I am wiser. The kid inside still wants to play and have fun.....just don't want to be stupid.
