Naivety is alive & well
I've been on this site, albeit casually for about 10 months. What I've experienced in that time has been eye opening to say the least. My first online romance was with American military person who allegedly lived in Sydney. He turned out to be a Phillipino conman asking for a couple of thousand $$. Apparently "IF" I was stupid enough to give him funds, he'd be getting millions that he'd happily share with me. I clearly have "idiot" written on my forehead.
Whatever!
My immediate & rather curt response declining was met with a large amount of aggression. That was a fun experience.
The next was a single man who I met locally who turned out to be married.
The next was a man who provided a photo that was at least 10 years younger & 25 kg lighter than what was reality. Like I wouldn't notice that extreme difference. The odd thing is ...he looked genuinely surprised that I looked exactly like my photo ... Ummm, I thought that was the whole idea.
The most recent epic fail was a very sweet talking single Dad. Well at least that's what I thought until his wife called me. Happy New Year to that family.
So despite the fact that I've chatted & met so very few people and all of them were magnificent tellers of untruths, I refuse to believe that this is the norm. There is someone awesome out there for me.
In the meantime, I'll keep kissing frogs, or at least chatting to them online... Until that elusive Prince comes along.
Happy New Year everyone!
