FOCUS YOUR EYES ON JESUS CHRIST TODAY!
MATT 6:24 TELLS US THAT WE CANNOT SERVE AND WORSHIP GOD AND MONEY !WHAT IS YOUR FOCUS ? IS ETERNITY STAMPED ON YOUR EYES OR IS GREED STAMPED ON YOUR EYES ?OUR CONTENTMENT IS IN CHRIST ALONE ! WE CANNOT SERVE CHRIST AND LOVE MONEY !A.1st Tim .6:9-10 ' But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and hurtful lusts , which drown men in destruction and perdition.For the love of money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after , they have erred from the faith , and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.' Notice the key words :
1.Fall into temptation !
2.Fall into a snare or trap !
3.Fall into foolish lusts !
4.Fall into hurtful lusts !
5.Drown in destruction and damnation !
6.Erred from the faith !
7.Pierced through with many sorrows ! CONTENTMENT IS FOUND IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST .CONTENTMENT BEGINS WITH YOU KNOWING YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY WILL BE IN HEAVEN WITH THE LORD .IT IS NOT WHAT YOU HAVE, BUT WHERE YOU ARE HEADED !! WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING GREATER THAN YOUR TIME HERE ON EARTH , YOU APPROACH YOUR LIFE DIFFERENTLY ! 'If money and material things brought true contentment then Hollywood and Music Celebrities would be the happiest people on the planet , when we know they are the most miserable people cut off from God and spiritually dead on the inside .'
B.Read 1st Timothy 6:3-6 {Here is a Summary}
1.We must teach the words of Jesus that produces godly living !
2.If a person preaches a false gospel he is proud ,full of envy and causes trouble.He is perverse and has a corrupt mind and is destitute of the truth thinking that the ministry is a way to get wealthy.It commands us to withdraw ourselves from them.
3.True godliness with contentment is true wealth.This is great gain. To have real godliness and to be satisfied with what you have is more than money can buy !
4.We brought nothing in this world and it is clear and certain we can carry nothing out ! That is verse 7 and a very simple and profound inspired statement and rebuke to those who teach you 'how to get rich' ! We must focus on Jesus and living for Him and not be materialistic !
5.With food and clothing let us be content !! God meets our basic needs not our lustful greed's. {Phil.4:19}
Those who are greedy are not content and satisfied with their basic needs being met .They crave for more and more ! We are to be occupied with Christ not occupied with material things!
Ecc 5:10 'He that loves silver{money} shall not be satisfied with silver:nor he that loves abundance with increase:this is also vanity.'
Proverbs 23:4-5 Labor not to be rich....Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?For riches certainly make themselves wings, they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.' Amazing all these serious warnings that are ignored in the modern Church.The 'Greed Is Good Syndrome' has captured many souls and is leading them away from a godly content life in Christ ! FOCUS YOUR EYES ON JESUS CHRIST !
