It's a bit of a joke where I work, it's a saying. If you have good veins,it is a Nurse or Doctors dream for when taking bloods from a patient for testing. An Anaesthetist can administer certain drugs into your veins for if you were to have surgery for example.

Some peoples veins aren't as visible and a little harder to insert the needle. Sorry to confuse you there.

Sometimes it depends on how you feed, if you eat rice and dont drink liquids you veins show more clearly.A friend of mine that is a pro body builder taught me that.
