travelling or college

im trying to decide what to do with the next few years of my life , should i travel or go to college, which would be more beneficial for growth and consciousness expansion

My opinion id travel "lifes the teacher" certain books are not. Having said that an education can be a benefit. So theres living and theres studying= dillema.confused thumbs up handshake wave

@ Morrison - A lot of students take a couple of years off to travel but having said that, your mind will never be more sponge=like for information than it is right now. The younger you are, the easier it is to learn.... professor

The other side of the coin is that while you are studying it it advantages to get some work experience in your chosen field, this often leads to full-time employment after you have completed your studies leaving little chance for extended traval.

So if you are strong of mind and feel that you wouldn't have any problem with delaying your studies, then by all means travel.... yay

Hi morison, my advice would be to go to college first and then travel. Once you have your degree, you can not only travel, but also work abroad. It's much harder to go travelling now, come back broke, apply to college etc. dunno

i was planning on living in the wild , already did it here for 9 months so i wouldn't need much money to travel

@ Morison - I tend to side with KN but if you wish to do your own thing first make sure that you set a fixed date to start your studies... and stick to it.... professor

I have to agree with knenagh, cat, and soulmate. If you don't get college out of the way, it may never happen and you have the rest of your life to travel.

i have friends who travelled first and they came back years later with a way clearer idea of who they were and what they wanted, no idea what to do in college either so i may just be sitting around for another year i can afford the first year but the application deadline is in less than a couple of months and thats the late deadline, my only real options are to travel or try and get a job in a jobless country with no qualifications

hey Morison, I have had travelers coming my way here and they haven't completed their college yet. Some of them volunteered to teach English - conversation. I hosted them in my home plus meals provided for. I also took them around to see interesting places around my area. In return for that, they spend about 3 hours or less with my students, speaking to them in English. They only put in a few hours and then they are free to explore and do whatever they want to do..Some of them stay with me for a week, others 2 weeks. I'm expecting some more coming in within the next week and he is planning to stay in my town for 1 month. So there you go, if you decide to travel first, remember you can be used as a teacher in countries where English is the second language....cheers

You can do both, study and travel as an exchange student, u live in Ireland, so i dont think it can be of any problem for u. Or choose a country u like and go to study there.
Or if u have no money u can go on apprentiship program, I know they hire right after high schooldunno

I agree with Aisha. You can do both. That way, you'd be too busy to do a lot of playing. You can even travel and work at the same time. There are companies with such a freebie esp to Caucasians like you. Good luck to your choice.bouquet
