To those who consider this in any way an insult to the memory or integrity of Nelson Mandela or to any South Africa irrespective of colour, race, or belief system, I would ask that you re read the words. If they still cause you offence I am truly sorry. To me Nelson Mandela was and will always be a true hero, complete in his humanity, courage and spirit. Revolutionary in the pure sense. A wonderful, teacher, guide, light.

Should have said it here.

And yes, like I said on that blog, it didn't seem like anyone that commented had actually read the text. smile

Morning seadrum1wave

It's called selective reading! If you actually read into the whole of the thread it is in context.handshake
And here I thought I was the one that misunderstood the blog. laugh
Hi Seadrum,..I have to agree that I saw nothing wrong in the piece you posted regards the great mans memory and integrity.
People would seem to be very touchy here on the subject, but they should at least read the piece first before commentating.
Keep on blogginghandshake wine
I think because of the great sadness of the mans passing the text looked to be derogatory at first glance and certainly at the time of reading thought it in poor taste at such a time.moping
The man is assured in history books and maybe at his passing a new surge of goodness will happenteddybear
Hi, I have been reading the various comments here and wish I had more time at my disposal to expand my true feelings.

I do however want to say that Kittyjoy has taken the words out of my mouth and therefore I am happy that I am not the only South African that has interpreted the OP's previous blog to the same effect.
I'm sorry for all my typos. Im not at my computer and this phone sometimes has a mind all its own. Seadrum, thank you for the story. Coming from a country where inhumanities and social afflictions are high, because of people that are still stron and around committing knowingly these acts, I.am at your side. Let's not be superficial and act like naive, this world is more full of greed and injustice. Count, if you can, the countries that are subject to such conditions. Don't be concerned only of SA.

Thanks again. Seadrum. May there be mire like Mandela, that's my challenge, can we?

SR
Thank you, kittyjoy for expressing my feelings on the post so much better than I could. I found the language used in the article to be inflammatory at best and I'm left wondering if the author has ever actually lived in SA...there's a lot of judgement on the Mandela story, on these forums lately as well... from outside, not-very-well-informed sources.
