X Number of Shopping days until Christmas!!!

As I sat down to my computer to do some work today I was thinking about my family and how soon I will be seeing my parents and my brothers and their families very soon. On the radio I heard, "ONLY 6 Shopping days until Christmas!" What a business ploy. No I do not begrudge anyone to try to make money. Yes I do buy some gifts for Christmas. But really I am not your normal person when it comes to Christmas. Just like my grandfather I would rather get my presents in a plain bag or box so I do not have to unwrap anything; that is if I really need to get any at all and I DON"T. I have not put up lights on my house for about 3 years now. It started out because I couldn't climb a ladder. Now it is because I would rather decorate my house on the inside with my nativity scene and different holy families I have.

Am I a so called Scrooge? Maybe. It depends on your idea of what Christmas is about. I have a friend who claims to be a bah humbug because of the fighting the season caused her parents to have over who would get to spend the holiday with her. Actually I do not think either one of us is a Scrooge or a bah humbug. We just have different priorities.

As for the presents I am giving this year??? YES, gift cards. At least they won't have to return anything I gave them. AND, when possible I am giving them from business in their own local city so we can support those around us. (NO offense to those who live somewhere else.)

Merry Christmas and remember that we are celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ to those who recognize him as such. To everyone else enjoy what you can out of the season but I know it will be less if you do not have any faith. No this does not include people of the Jewish faith since they have Hanukkah which they were just celebrating.

Mostly please be safe and pleasant to the workers you deal with. Remember that it IS NOT THEIR FAULT!
