A Dog's Tail

This dog at local animal shelter was given a shot to put dog to sleep, dog didn't go to sleep, 2nd shot was given, dog decleared dead. Next morning employees arrived, dog was alive and kicking. No more shot for this guy they said, a foster family was found for dog in Alabama waiting to be adopted. Shelter animal after dog did, named dog Lazarus.beer

The amount of animals that get euthanized astounds me. Only one in ten dogs ever get a home. one point four million dogs...and one point three million cats are euthanized every year. I have heard of animals not dying after being gassed or injected....very sad...crying crying crying

Calli, around 15,000 children under the age of 5 years die every day in Africa from malnutrition. Maybe we should put available resources and concern into them, not a few dogs and cats?

Lovestick....you do what you need to do...I do what my heart tells me to do....my heart is with the animals...without someone to back them up, or help them...who will be their hope? I am very sad about the children and all the horrible things that happen on this planet.

I see... in case of multiply quickly, what we can say only "poor animals".. in my opinion if certain animal too much growing, that also will not good for environment, government should take an action to reduce/limit that certain animal population but still keep ecosystems balanced.

sure it is different with how to handle human being population growth. in Africa, if many kids died everyday bcos of malnutrition.. the first that should be blamed is government... who else ? should we blame nature ? dunno

IT'S BECAUSE PEOPLE DO NOT BELEIVE in spaying or neutering their pets also.....one unneutered cat contributes to 420,000 extra cats in the world. I know countless guys that say-oh, I don't want my male dog to go through that!!!! ugh. Such stupidity. Then when there dog gets the neighbors dog pregnant-they don't care!!! People need to be responsible pets owners....doh

Smarty, I agree with you on the children. These African nations get lots of financial help from different countries and sources(charities). There govts pass very little on to the people of their country. Case in point: UNICEF. Many years ago, I read about them. They are very corrupt. Very little of what they collect actually gets into the hands of the people.frustrated

As far as euthanizing animals, I'm not sure how I feel about that.confused
