Teach Me To Listen

Lord, teach me to be still, I know I talk and talk away. Keep me silent until I really have something to say. So many need a listening ear a real true friend to care, oh; help me be willing to hear, the burdens other bear. many times I speak out of turn not thinking what I do. help me to just listen and learn and speak when spoken to. the worst thing is I give advice before it asked of me, I really need to think twice and weigh my words carefully. oh lord, no gossip, let me speak, no words of judgment let me say acceptance only let me speak that I may be a friend today.
