Live by Wit and Not Wallet!

…………..If men of much financial magnitude had ended up miserably and with no confidence in wealth, surely something must be wrong with their goals and with what people believe success to be, even if only temporary. An excessive preservation of life usually ends in frustration and disappointment.
Being rich is bad only when one is limited and focused to his resources, profits and investments because once the wealth is gone, his life becomes empty, frustrating, devoid of wit and inventiveness. Everything in him including his environment goes under the drain.
We have read it all that by only focusing on acquiring wealth, every other aspects of your life might be taken for granted. Possibly, your family may be breaking apart, your marriage might be suffering tremendously and you rarely spend time with yourself, wife and kids. As a matter of fact, it is either you are temporarily separated or divorced from your human-self. Like some folks have abandoned their family, wife and kids far down Africa and live abroad in quest of money and things that can never last.
Such separation is evil and the divorce is a destructive conclusion of self-inflicted pain. Pains caused by your excessive quest to get as much as you can with little control over your weaknesses or excesses. You’ve totally ignored the niche you were carved for-evidently on the wings of more quests. When a man deprives himself of the humanity in him and resort to that of a controlled machine run by every buzz in order to make riches, when he lives like a robot, ordered and directed by the demands of his work and pursuant of wealth, he becomes separated from his real self. The humanity in him is gone and has been sacrificed to the pursuit of things that will waste away or run out of his control because he never at any time built the real humanity in him to achieve any meaningful feat other than riches that always fail. His environment is totally ignored, let the roof be on fire or the kids be drowning, he doesn’t care. He is a slave to money and wealth, he works hard for money and he depends on his job for a living.
Worst still, his expenses are more or just equal to his income, and his debts are more or just equal to your assets. He doesn’t have time and money enough for doing things he like to, eventually if he loses his job; he can’t sustain his lifestyle. When he drops dead, his wealth like a burnt tissue paper will mixed up with winds and fly away. Such lifestyle, including the pervasive advice from advertisers, banks and advisors, is extremely persuasive in convincing you that you are a servant to money and are in no way closer the meaning of true successfulness.
Sometimes, your little kindness, your words of encouragement, arms to the destitute will go a long way in creating positive ripple effect more than millions of money piled up in savings. Bill Gates is a very successful man because he is the richest person in the world and everybody knows that. However, I can also say that my grandfather was a very successful man even though he was a poor man. My grandfather had no money but he was everybody's friend and he died a happy man. He left no silver and he left no gold but his words still live and everybody smiles once they hear his name. You should live by wit not by wallet.

Happiness varies from person to person.

And money can buy happiness. And wit is only important in terms keeping your money.

Note that the wit I'm speaking of is only in this context. Wit, in other words, intelligence can be used for harvesting and preserving money. If you're smart enough to do that, you're smart enough to know that you can buy anything you want to make you happy. :]
that is very thought provoking and inspiring, thank you.
Money can only buy you so much, but it cant buy you the love you want to feel with the people around you, and it can not buy you satisfaction, because in our society there is no such thing as enough. And because of the structure of the tax system, you are guaranteed to never have enough. Only your mind and heart can set you free from the money trap. Peace.
if money can only buy happiness, what happens when you have none? Can you still smile when your wallet is pennyless?
