Hi All, I made it one of my goals to live in all 4 corners of the country. Take a look at the country in Google maps using the satellite view and check out the images from a low altitude. The imagery of the land is amazing! The thing that I found to be disappearing throughout the states was the loss of cultural individuality from area to area...all the stores are the same and food products are the mostly the same. The great flavors in local food have been lost through the use of processed ingredients. People are great the world over... I'd have to choose a state west of the Mississippi River. The eastern side is too humid for me and far too many people in the northern parts. If you have only been to four states that's not bad. It is more then a lot of people. However, you need to get in a car and do some driving and see the country if you can get the time to do it. Listening to everyone here is good, all have there view points...but you are the one going to be living under your roof, you need to experience for yourself to see where you feel at home.
I want to retire in Italy if I can or the Pacific Northwest.
aw, Ohio is not that bad. pretty cold in the winter though. i loved living in colorado, and i like living in florida. am thinking about moving a little bit south this fall, maybe kentucky, georgia, louisianna.
I would love to retire in the pacific northwest but my family is on the east coast. My least favorite state would be Massachusetts it has ben screwed up by the shanty Irish Immigrants starting with the kennedys.

Thanks Rusty, I must admit, it makes a change from some
of the bickering we see on here all too often.
