Do you ever find on here it is difficult to interpret a person from a different nationalities humour?

Are you left wondering are they being funny or serious?

Irish and British humor can be tough to understand at times...and yet, some of it I see immediately is tongue-in-cheek. Maybe because I do appreciate dry, sarcastic humor. I've always loved Steven Wright, for example, but never understood the show Upstairs, Downstairs...and hated Benny Hill. dunno

All should take advantage of the emotes when trying to use humor, unless blatantly obvious........

Hey Tammi,
I struggle with the British humour sometimes here and definitely struggle with my student's lunch supervisor at work who is a Scotsman. He deadpans and I am never sure if he is serious or not. But over in the EU forums, I think I know you guys somewhat well enough to let you know when I have no idea what you are saying. LOL Happened today, I thought...What????!?!?!?!confused It's quite humbling. I sometimes also worry that I am being offensive when I have no intention of being so with my North American humour.

This is great to know....

We do tend to have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humour....

I find when I am in the states I have to go slower...my Dad has to remind me that they do not always get my quick thinking replies....

Some of the sitcoms in the States I just do not get at all and I think why are they laughing...
