Its not as if AIDS just appeared in the US a couple months ago either. I believe the very first recorded case within the continental US was in the early 1980s but I would need to look that up. I’m sure Pakistan is battling it just the same. As far as I knew it was a retro virus and on a pandemic scale.

It is not whether a country has problems and issues, but how they handle them. The big different in your two examples is we are very open with our problems. We attack them head-on and seek solutions. The USA will solve it's issues and will still be a great country.
