Wellllllll I not materialistic that's for sure...things can be replaced...people can't...and yes I do stand up for things I believe in....Injustice is a big thing for me and I am constantly fighting against it....

Why are you making what seems to be a comparison between idealism and materialism? They don't correlate as opposites...
Idealism versus realism..... yes.
I am an idealist by nature but with experience and exposure/observations I have encountered within my life, one needs to adapt to the "real world" as it were amd, therefore, I have LEARNED to be a realist.
There is no princess in a tower going to be rescued by a handsome, gallant prince. All of mankind is never going to learn to live in harmony. Bullying, oppression and intolerance is never going to be completely eradicated........ all, sadly!
I still do my bit to TRY and make a difference, and we all can in some small way, but there is much I have to live with.... simple.

Hi Claudya
I'm very idealistic, but unfortunately realistic as well...if that makes sense. It's called being honest with yourself.
I've left many things behind, like my culture and opportunities that I had or still have in America. I've been living in Sweden for almost 10 years. It's good here, but materially...I'd be much better off in California or Las Vegas.
I'm more into collecting genuine freinds, maintaining my great relationships with my family and friends, collecting experiences as opposed to collecting material bs...
I grew up in California, and America is easily one of the most materialistic societies on earth. Really don't miss the plastic people from California. Sure there are a lot in Europe, but nothing like America across the board.
