I'm not sure about you guys, but everytime I go out on a date I can't seem to figure out what to do. Last week I googled "Date Ideas" and I got some ideas of what to do...but nothing concrete or telling me where exactly to go. You

Today I stumbled across this site called PlanJam.com (you can see it here ).

It gives you some great ideas in your area sorted by theme...or for whichever area you end up going to (I hate it when you pick someone up and you can never figure out what to do around there!). You can customize the date by dropping items into a cart...it even calculates the amount of time and money required.

This is not spam...wanted to make a useful contribution and so i'm passing on a cool site that I found. Good luck to everyone.

I think its a great idea ... I checked it out, but right now its only with respect to the state of California and you need a valid postal code to even enter the site .... so unfortunately I'm not sure how useful it will be for the majority of people here.

If you are on a date it should'nt matter what you do if you like the person your with, but just to be fair I think its up to the person who asks for the date to be the one to supply the the answers.

But I still think its a great idea to have lots of different activities to choose from .... variety makes it interesting instead of doing the same old things. The most important thing with dating is having the opportunity to chat and have fun .... and it can be something simple as going for a walk or something a little more daring like going river rafting.

I am sure that information could be helpful, however, dont get me wrong, what happened to having imagination?

Are we to the point as human beings that we no longer exercise our minds to experience things? We have to rely on technology to plan it for us?

omgosh.......its true...........I enjoy the forums.

Imagination is wonderful ..... but its also great to be aware of what is happening in your area as well .... so having one spot with a list of activities to enjoy in your local area sounds like a good plan to me. Even if it wasn't for a date but just to get out and do activities with friends - why not look it up? It may inspire you to think of something else.

True most would not think about looking under our local section of the newspaper for festivals, concerts in the park or art shows.

We have a nice weekender section as well.

Well our local paper has some activities listed but not everything ... I used to take my daughter to lots of things that didn't cost much or were free and we had a blast .... so sometimes its just being aware of were to look to find out about things.

What's next, a scripted dialogue, one for the guy, one for the girl ? Hand her the script when you meet and just read your lines. Paws

Well then you can at least be assured that you won't say something stupid and turn people off.

I think a lot of people are missing the point here...its not about telling someone what to do...its more about ideas to make things more exciting and to do something different. I for one am a creature of habbit and tend to do the same thing over and over again. It becomes even harder when your date lives nowhere near you.

The best date in my opinion is to just simply follow each others hearts. To just kind of be spontaneous and go with the moments. I had all kinds of ideas for my first date - horseback riding, boating, swimming, a concert, dancing - ended up simply spending some very romantic quiet moments together and that turned out to be the best date in the world. I'm not sure if a person can plan how to date someone - I find when I plan things - something always comes up. Best thing for me to do is get out of my own way..lol. So far that has worked for me!cheers

Don't worry Mr. Methods- lots of points get mixed, dulled or even twisted in the forums. It's no offense to you- I'm sure lots of people will (and can) appreciate this new way to come up with ideas.
