Alaska Senator. Stevens has been convicted of several felony charges. But it doesn't seem to matter to the Alaska governor. She want's him to run again, and represent her state in the U.S. Senate!! Am I the only one who sees a problem here??

I don't get it...
If I were a convicted felon, I would not even be allowed to vote!!! How can a felon be allowed to run for office??? Something is REALLY screwed up in this area.
Why are there not laws against this?
What happened to Honesty and Integrity for our representatives? They are supposed to lead by example. They should be mentors for us.

I just honestly feel the Republican party feels that laws are for the "other" people! Yes, there are laws against him holding political office. I don't believe he can even run. What bothers me, is the suggestion, that she would support a convicted felon for that office!

NeWildflower: So appalled, and yet none of Obama's associations bother you? Were you as outraged at his choices of whom to support and whom to sit in his cabinet?
Just wondering..
Yes, both parties are just as corrupt!!! A Den of Thieves!
"In an embarrassing turn for federal prosecutors who were accused multiple times of misconduct during and after the trial, the government today said prosecutors had failed to turn over evidence to Stevens's attorneys and asked the judge to vacate the conviction in the interest of justice."

Conrad73: How about afterward?
Still,NOT A CHANCE!
Conrad, i wouldn't trust them even if i was a headless chicken.
When you know how they system works, it's all too easy to draw your salary, take the easy road and not represent your electorate at all.
Some people who go into politics do so initially to help people, but they are soon drawn into the land of expenses, expenses expenses and they forget they are there to be the eyes and ears of the people.
I'd hang every one who was convicted for anything other than speeding as a deterrent to make the others behave, or else.

HealthyLiving: Would you like to be our NEXT Dictator???
I'd do a great job.But then i am honest and would represent all the peoples interests, not those of say the top 5 per cent in American society.
I am just at a loss given that your all armed why these people somehow don't get shot, when so many other lunatics shoot up people in restaurants, citizen lessons and schools.
Why is it not one of these misguided people go crazy and decide to shoot some real criminals, not just some poor person out having lunch, at school or even eating their lunch.
