I stayed off drugs, but everyone in my town was on them in the 80s. I swear. One time I went to a job interview at a methodone clinic as a receptionist and said that to the woman interviewing me. I didn't get hired. That's Hipocracy because she workes in an office that doles out druga and I told her i never took any. Maybe if I had been on drugs she would have hired me. laugh

people will do what people will do and some of us even end up not too bad as well......... personally I think your warning would be more fitting if directed to alcohol users but everything in moderation as they say........

Actually, my friends who were on drugs a)don't need their brains to do the kinds of jobs they get b)never had the brains to get better jobs c)still have perfectly good teeth, d)don't appear to have Hepatitis or psychotic episodes and e)all have great social lives and families. So, it looks as if you get your info about druggies from movies like 'Reefer Madness.' I never approved of their drug use, but they all grew up to be just fine.

Thats one of the biggest myths going, there are lots of people with amazing brains/minds who have great jobs and do or have used drugs dunno

Im not advocating drug use and would go so far at to say people have to be very cautious about them but the stereotypes that have been formed about those of us who grew up in the era when everyone was doing them are quite honestly laughable (as you said in your second point) - especialliy when uttered by people sipping their alchol laugh

gozoman2: Drugs have been around since man started experimenting with herbs and grasses......

Legal classification in most countries is based on the level of toxicity or effects of the particular drug on the human system...

I would rather give out information relating to the most common drugs then discuss my personal use.....

Marijuana as grass is a light intoxicant....relaxant and feel good factor most common....can however cause temporary paranoia if smoked heavily and on some....just makes them go to sleep...there are no known indications of dependency except maybe psychological....

Coke is a strong stimulant....and addictive. It also damages the nasal tracts and in excess can cause permanent damage to brain cells....is also know to accentuate aggressive behaviour in some...also dangerous through the additives it is cut with when sold on the streets.

Heroin is a killer. It sucks the life out of the user. Highly addictive and extremely difficult to move away from. A high percentage of overdose cases is due to Heroin.

LSD is an extremely powerful mind drug even in very small doses. It creates an illusion world for hours on end...and can be very dangerous due to the person not being in control of motorial functions of the body. Something that has to be handled with extreme caution......and not to be done too often as it will otherwise leave permanent effects on the individual...

Those are the basic four.....apart of course from the mountain of pills and stuff that is processed in labs....legal or otherwise.....most of which is in effect harmful in one way or another.....some like Mets....more then others....like Ecstacy...

Hope this helps..

GOZO.....the big old H if taken rarely and in small amounts isnt going to do long term harm........

dope has more of an effect on me than H.........(perhaps cos i blew myself out from it in my early 20's.....thai gold hash day in day out, waking till sleep for about 5 years)

and then we have GHB, an anaesthetic which is on the rise over here.....and has caused numerous OD'S......
have done it didnt really dig it tho

haha thumbs up wave

The reason these stereotypes are allowed to continue is because of the illegalities involved - of course people never hear about the ones who's lives are successfull, the professors, the vibrant company owners, millions of movers and shakers all have to keep it secret ans so the silly myths and stereotypes live on.....
