rocketqueen: GOZO.....the big old H if taken rarely and in small amounts isnt going to do long term harm........

dope has more of an effect on me than H.........(perhaps cos i blew myself out from it in my early 20's.....thai gold hash day in day out, waking till sleep for about 5 years)

and then we have GHB, an anaesthetic which is on the rise over here.....and has caused numerous OD'S......
have done it didnt really dig it tho

Its interesting you should say that, Ive known a couple of people who managed really good jobs whilst maintaining heroin habits - the majority though just run their health into the ground - I hate the stuff personally because of its highly addictive nature more than anything else........

rocketqueen: information and not judgement and preaching is the key

applause

I walked off a course a couple of years ago (Id paid 100£ for it too crying ) because of just that - it was a drugs awareness course and I was wary going into it when I found that the guy running it was an ex copper, however, not wanting to stereotype I paid my money and sat through the classes till I could stand it no more - I think he was quite glad to see the back of me too as I was constantly challenging his stereotyping - it wasnt his fault I guess as, because of his job, he had only ever met the users who end up in trouble.....

i know numerous intellects who take heroin, whether they are an abuser or recreationally user

its funny some people how some people tick differently....

i found the dope more addictive than the H........

and i do prefer to take a little H before i go out, smooth out the nerves a little.....i liken it to being back in the womb, warm, soft, protected, nothing can hurt you.....

each to their own i suppose......

all things can take their ravages on people if not properly taken, it does seem tho that when heroin gets ahold of someone, they seem to have an absolute disregard for everything and anyone else around them

Wow, you do surprise me with that one, you must have really good willpower, that stuff frightened the life out of me but I hear what you say about the 'feeling' and the 'protected' bits.....

I can take or leave the dope, I dont even smoke every day unless im on holiday or something but a j at night is a nice way to chill, much more effective than a few glasses of wine laugh

yep, as i said earlier, Ive known some maintain their habits and stay functional in society, a lot of it is down to how people afford to pay though cos it is extremely expensive to keep going.

Heroin in its pure state and administered properly
is not as dangerous as people may think, in fact
nicotine is more additive.
Many years ago in the uk, heroin users were able to
obtain the drug on prescription. The user could and
usually did lead a normal life, hold down a job and
stay reasonably healthy.
The real problem now lies with the adulteration of
the drug, self administration (dirty needles, collapsed
veins etc) and of course the high price leading to
crime.
So it could be argued that the result of making it
illegal has in fact made the situation worse.

Just a thought.

...even more then anyone can imagine.......

H was and still is the rich man's play thing........normal street kids end up getting involved in the petty criminality ring to subsidize the habit once hooked.....

....again, this is not perspective of opinion talking....

...I was, still am, one of the most outspoken voices on this island regarding decriminalizing and treating the legal drug issue on a different plane then the present one......

...however, facts show that the larger chunk of petty thefts and other minor criminal activity locally is carried out by habitual drug users on H.....

...all deaths from overdoses in the last decade occurring locally were due to H use......

...the biggest amount of money spent on recuperation programs are going on H users.....

It is a killer drug that must not be allowed free availability. It is too dangerous to do so.
