sweetowen: Does anybody have suggestions on how I might go about finding a dear friend I'd met in Mississippi back in 1976? We both stayed at the same campground, but she had to leave because her father got stationed in Washington state. We kept in touch for a bit after that, but we've been out of touch for years. I'd dearly love to find her again & possibly arrange a reunion!

Try "Friends Reunited" .com. It was a UK site but I think it has grown enormously and there are numerous branches, like "College Reunited" "Road Reunited" etc etc.
I would imagine it has crossed the pond by now.

The websites posted are a great start.
You can also go to google and try "their name here"(use the quotes"). I lost contact with someone that was like a little sister to me and found her this way.
You can also use google or yahoo and type in how do I find someone over the internet. Some sites charge though.
