jeremy_leo: What do you do when the girl you've dated for three weeks says she is interested in dating someone else but still wants to be with you? I'm really confused with this one. I broke it off for the moment, but I'm giving her a chance to figure things out and come back to me.

get rid mate,if she likes you that should be enough,
It so simple tell her to sling her hook delete her number she is setting the agenda on how she want to treat you for the rest of your days i think you she is selfish and if she had real feelings for you she would not be comtemplating see other guys .

I threw in this scenario since it appeared that all those posting took it for granted that the girl in question was a trollop and all seemed eager to suggest so.....
Refer to my first post on the issue....never assume anything unless you have the whole picture....
we only got the version of the op....
so.. you did assume in your scenario that the girl was feeling strangled as much as the other posters assumed that the girl in question was a trollop, correct?

So, it’s been 6 hours already. Did you call her back and rodeo the night away, or did you do like everybody else here told you, run, fast and you’re now somewhere on the border between Nebraska and Colorado?
Lad, don't play hard to get. Wimmin don't like men who play hard to get

not really....just another perspective that was missing...there may also other not yet discussed...
Does it mean, you are going out for dinner and going home separately?
Or are you talking on the phone?
Or are you sleeping together?
Listen darling, work out what you want in a relationship and if you want a person all to yourself, then make that clear.
For me, I have always stated that I wanted my next relationship to be the one I would spend the rest of my life with, so I cut out all this chasing around.
If you had agreed to get married within three weeks, then that is different.
Let her go, she is a single woman, if she wants to have some fun then she can, I fail to see why she is being slain here.
Unconfuse yourself, only you can do that and once you have, then you will be in a much stronger position to decide where you go with this, if anywhere.
ladyofthelake: Truth is she is just as confused as you are. You are doing the right thing. If you love something let it go and if it comes back to it was meant to be.
Very well said, and that's the way I feel about it. I can hope that she will come to her senses (at least that's how I look at it) and will only date one guy (me I hope). If not, at least I'm ready for the slap in the face now.

We have been taking our time on everything. I'm trying to not emotionally suffocate her and as far as I know, she hasn't spent anymore time with the other guy since last weekend. (as far as I know anyways)
I'm not trying to play hard to get, but I'm trying to make myself realize that I do tend to suffocate people with affection when I care about them. Eventually she will have to get used to it. I can't change who I am, and I LOVE to show my affection. :)

three weeks is not that long.....did you have an agreement on a mutually exclusive relationship?.....If not than she owes you nothing in terms of an explanation as she is just dating & you are simply one of her dates....but if you expect more out of that relationship than you need to let her know....my feeling is that your first instinct was the correct one....Let her go or you'll get dragged along & hurt in the end...
