I saw a man today walking down the street with a woman by his side who most evidently was carrying a child to be born, either that or she sported a very odd version of a fat belly.
He carried one bag of heavy groceries, she carried two just as heavy.

Was that only him making a manly statement that she won’t get away with stuff simply because she’s pregnant, or was he being a swine?
Should I have punched him in the face with my right foot followed up with a knee in the balls, or was his better half simply using the chance to work out a bit?

Should wimmin be allowed to get away with not helping out with stuff around the house simply because they are about to give birth?

Please explain "getting away with stuff". How do they get away with anything when carrying extra weight for 9 months?

My pregnancy, as a man, is worse. I don't have any control at all over the whole situation. At least, she feels it.

You had "control" when you impregnated her. How much control do you need? You say "my pregnancy". If it is a joint responsibility, why wouldn't you want to take part in helping her with "stuff around the house".

The burden of motherhood, (joy) takes a strong woman. The two bags were a sign she will be strong for her family. She will always carrie the weight.

Oh, but I will help out, I do. The question was, should it be different just because she's pregnant?
It's like some of my mates, as soon as they have a cold, they want mommy to be there and boil up soup.

I've always admired that for some reason, when a woman just carries no as if nothing was going on. She could be working on a chain gang, dig in there, and simply stand there one day in the midst of labour, dropping a child to the ground between a pickaxe being beating the ground.

Furthermore, whether she is pregnant or not, a gentleman would want to help a woman who is struggling with carrying groceries. The key word is struggling. Nowadays women are independent and can handle just about anything.

Should a man give up his seat on the train whether a woman is pregnant or not?

Woman fought for equal rights. My personal belief is that women really lost when they fought for equal rights because they still aren't paid the same wages a man is for the same job but men think women want to be the same as they are so the men don't go out of their way to help her. A man wouldn't help another man that is struggling with groceries. So why would he help a woman if she thinks she is equal.

Yes, it should be different because she IS pregnant.

Okay, I'm out then. I don't look under titles of threads. I always look at "new threads". Seems to be a problem these days whether it's a joke, or whether it's the wrong subject for a thread, or someone is offending someone. Pain in the butt as far as I'm concerned.wave wave

Oh, but don't leave!
Now you know that I was joking.
It doesn't mean you can't have your say and make it a serious subject.
It still is interesting to hear what people think about this.
Just as long as you are aware that if my woman was pregnant I would neither neglect her (have her carry two bags while I carry one), nor would I treat her like she was terminally ill (refuse her to do anything).
