I found this research: It turns out that older men chasing younger women contributes to human longevity and the survival of the species, according to new findings by researchers at Stanford and the University of California-Santa Barbara.

This was in the same article: The most popular explanation for why humans don't die by age 55 has been termed the "grandmother hypothesis," which suggests that women enhance the survival of their children and grandchildren by living long enough to care for them and "increasing the success of their genes.

So it appears from this research men need to be messing around with younger ladies and older ladies need to live longer and take care of their grandkids. What do you think of this research?

confused So, if I do not have grandchildren I will die before 55. What if I fool around with young men? Will that give me a longer life, while waiting?

The article did not deal with the 'cougar women' in the research. It did relate the age of the population grows when the male reproductive capability is extended later and later as he grows older.

Big_John: Justification for what?

I was kind of joking with that one, but, i meant justification, (a good reason) for older men dating/marrying younger women.
My apologies if i sounded sarcastic, was just thinking of some previous threads.
Still, a neat thread.

thumbs up Living your life in the way you want to live it is alway a good thing. Knowing you would step in and help in the caring for your kids and grandkids are one of the central themes of the article.

I found the article interesting in that it appears to be sound research on possibly why men do date younger ladies. It goes into study on hunter-gatherer societies and how both men and women live longer based on the reproductive patterns of the males. Weird I know!
