venere08: (It would help to actually include my reply!)

Just wanna say that in this global recession, it's probably a good idea to slash even profiles. Besides, adopt the minimalist look and be Zen-like.

You might attract a spiritual type, gussi.

Someone should do a poll; do minimalistic profiles score better than the opulent ones. Good idea eh? Since no one seems to complain about the short ones but all the more so of the wordy ones.

Fallingman: Yes, I think I shall cut my profile by 12 percent! I'm torn between removing adjectives or verbs!

I like 12%. If, however, you want to present yourself to the world as a prudent economist type, and that you really do care about extracting as much superfluous information from your profile as possible, I would advise perhaps 12.75% instead.

Adjectives or verbs? Well, keeping the verbs might be a better option. By including 'doing' words, you present yourself as a man of action. So then you would have less use for adjectives.grin

symbolistartist: Your neighbour's donkey??? Is that from the time when you were relying on the donkey to take you places? Like 50 so years ago?

confused

Don't get it. Sorry.

One thing I will say about donkeys, though, they're low-maintenance.
This is about my favourite adjectival phrase period.

Don't tell me the dementia has struck already? Yes well I seem to recall that donkeys were sometimes used when cars were still scarce... so if your profile dates from that time then it's understandable, that you'd show off that nice donkey. Or maybe you live on a Greek island? That's a possiblity too.

No you don't live on a Greek island. Hm, I kind of imagine they use donkeys in Bulgaria up in the mountains somewhere... am I getting anywhere close...? Just speculating... bouquet

No, sir! No dog here!

And no again! You are not meant to read anything into or out of this, deep or otherwise.

It just happened that my picture isn’t exactly me, it’s only a picture of my body. While I prefer a picture of my mind, or mood, or the current whim.

The other day I’ve been chatting, and the counterpart was stressing “sincerity” theme ad nauseum… such an original topic on this site, well… and in the real world as well…

So methinks, you wouldn’t find anything closer to illustrate the subject of being completely straightforward, than this cat’s facial expression. They don’t come more honest than that!

Interesting dear neighbour, yours is a cat's emotion and mine is my emotion with the cat as "rekvisita" (now what would THAT be in English???) hm some kind of addition to underline my mood... what do you think of that?cats meow

My Swedish-Russian and Russian-English dictionaries are at work (yes, I’m your neighbour, but originally from the other side), and I can’t find any other word than “entourage”. Perhaps, “requisite” can be more suitable, but I’m not sure….

As to what I think of employment of a picture of cat… For me a cat is a symbol of integrity and independence, a creature that in any situations has its own maneuver… And I myself often feel that way.

And I just love cats!!!

Cool! ALL of them of course! Why a change of direction from being East of Finland to being West of it... and of course, I expect all the juicy details about the men that are responsible for that! Yes? PM is ok too! wow
