wexlady41: Why do people always insist that there is someone for everyone? If there was someone for everyone why are there soo many people alone and lonely? And if God or whoever you believe in has assigned someone for each of us..surely we would meet them when we are still young enough to enjoy and appreciate them?

And why do people always say that you meet ms/mr right when you least expect it? If you're alone you tend not to be in places you are likely to meet someone..cos you have noone to go to those places with.

I'm 42 and fed up with the platitudes!! I want someone in my life and I want him NOW!!!!!

I agree with some of what you say hun. I dont believe there is someone for everyone. I dont believe we should need another to make us complete.
It is thinking that there is someone for everyone, and that we need someone to make us complete that leads to people feeling lonely.

Spartan88: Hi everybody!!!!
Well, the weekend is now over and its back to the gring and reality of another week of reality. Maybe its just me but I woike up early today and just lay in bed thinking about the
direction my life is going in. I am not working and single.
I mean, after the birthday bash with all you lovely people,
I might be just feeling withdrawl symptoms. Guess I'm just
tired of the normal rut. I mean, after 3 years on the site,
I've never actually met anyone and anyone I've been interested
in, doesnt feel the same...It just sucks! At 39, maybe I'm not meant to find anyone. I've even thought of leaving the site. I
like getting to know people, but by the time I get around to do the asking, they have someone else...sigh. I like to think I'm a
nice person. Friendly, kind, averagly good looking. I just have no idea what to do or how to meet someone....sigh. Ok, time to get up and have me cornflakes! It is 12.45! Seriously though....anyone else feel that way too?

mate think your taking it all a bit serious, try dating for enjoyment, if you take a girl out for a date, you do not have to spend the rest of your life with her, just an evening. Take girls out they dont have to be your ideal, just have to be fun. They might have a wow friend, sister etc. But just take girls out and have fun, you might both meet your special someones while your out, or introduce each other to your other friends, dates are not marriage proposals, not perfect just fun .dunno

IMO the Irish men are a bit slow at the asking out, she will not be insulted if you ask her, even ask her out as a friend not on a date, but do it and do it today. Every Friday and saturday have a date or friend lined up and go out and enjoy yourselves.

Thanks Ecowarrior, Thats good advice. I guess everyone had times when we all get down about not being in relationships and that. A few people (just like your good self) have given me good pep-talks too. I appreciate the advice mate. :) (Mother....fetch me the phone book lollaugh )

Hi, only joined the site recently and to be honest i think it is one of the most genuine sites on the internet. Have tried a few, and read their forums etc, but just look at the genuine response from people that care about you. They might not be in love with you but they love you and seem to genuinely care for you as a friend and that touched me. As someone told me at the weekend, they get up in the morning and say to themselves this is the begining of a new day and the start of my life.... In fact the person is in their late 60's and it was so refreshing to hear that's what their outlook on life was. Made me realise that life can quickly pass you by, so get up and grab them opportunites , although alot easier said than done.. Good luck in your journey and may you find everlasting happiness. We all deserve it... Take care

We all feel down and discouraged at times, so there is no need to feel foolish at all. In fact, it helps to see that even the good looking and positive get discouraged from time to time as well. It's not possible to be upbeat ALL the time but isnt it great to have friends who will rally round hug
