Not sure that I would say overdhadowed exactly. I think men have come to realize it does not mean they are less of a man to show their true feelings. By this I mean, cry, feel vulnerable, need to talk things out, try to understand things from a womans point of view and yes even shave their legs. I personally think malefemininity is a wonderful thing.

Capable yes, but those who want equal rights forget that it means equal in everything, including the bad times that men have to deal with. You can't say I want equal rights only when it benefits me as a woman.

The only thing is, how the thread question is written, i figured it had to do with men becoming more feminine, i didn't see it having anything to do with women... but I totally agree with your anwser snuggs..
offshorewinds: Fair enough...please re-read the thread again.....and holster your firearm....
What was the answer you were hoping for offshore?
Most of the men I was raised around did not buy into the media image of what it was to be a man.
They did what they needed to do to take care of their family be it working the back breaking job you hated to put food on the table, changing a diaper or dealing with two legged vermin.
The media trys to force an image on us of what it is to be a man. Usually that amounts to buying something be it a SUV or face cream to be "a man".
I'm poor and disagreeable. I'd just as soon live my life the way I see fit.

Tater: It seems as though you are asking, are more and more men becoming feminine like and that is overshadowing what real men are/or are suppose to be...
is that not what the thread is about??
..I actually referred to that more and more woman are becoming masculine / wishing to...resulting in the decline of guys like you and me...

Oh OK... just how it was wrote I thought you meant something different.. but no I don't want a woman, that wants to have alot of man characteristics...

I'm not sure what you mean by women becoming more masculine. The men in my family all married fairly tough women. They're better at dealing with us and loads more fun to have around.
I have a lot more trouble dealing with the "I'm just a girl" types.
Controling people trying to remake others are a different problem.

Tater, if she works for the cable company and climbs the telephone pole to fix your cable, or she works with the paving crew that puts new tar down to fix the potholes on your street, or she wears a police uniform, are you saying you wouldn't be interested in meeting her for a date??

..Bruno...I was'nt hoping for any particular answer....the speed of equality/ as mentioned is greater than the natural occurence...media highlightens/intensives this process ....to the point where the roles are being interacted and reversed....check out your local highway....who drives like a crazy man ?....

Probably not, If her job was too rough, simply because I don't want a woman that feels like leather...

Aren’t we just getting introduced to our "other” sides. Some men are making an effort to get in touch with their feminine sides and vice-versa. Will we all end up androgynous in a couple of millenniums? Who knows?

The "roughness" comes from her mind, how she uses her brain. There are loads of moisturizers on the market my friend. She can be just as soft as she wants to be.
The woman that works on a John Deere tractor takes a bubble bath at night.

"My first response isn't about equal rights; did you not read my replies?I'll say this again, women in my neck of the woods have only in the past 20-30 years spoken up for their rights as women, via technology and education."
