To all European citizens of the European Union!!!
Tomorrow is your day to vote in Europa for your future. These elections are worth millions!!
Do not hesitate to vote for a better or maybe different Europe. Vote with ratio and not with emotion and think twice before you want to elect an local party as it is the ¨ national elections ¨.
These are the European elections for almost 500 million people in 27 States to give them a voice in Europe not in your own country, to the establish political parties of the past, now you have to look forwards for an European Union with ¨new¨ elects who are there not because old reputation as politician or because they do not have faith of the inhabitant of their local countries and dropped down in the European arena for granted as reward of old services by the parties.
Tomorrow we have the possibility to show our voice and create an European Union to elect an European Parliament who will look forward and build a solid Europe for all Europeans in the Union and across the borders of the Union for a world which is open for all.
You are responsible for and have the possibility to vote for a fresh start of your future starting the 4th of June 2009.
The former East left many years ago a non Democratic system and changed it for a more Democratic system, the European Union. They were / are aware that freedom is the key for mankind opposite to ¨the old¨ Western Europe where people are more indifferent or maybe do not care at all about what their voice can do, a difference between a future in freedom or a kind of dictatorial system step by step by the old politicians and non of the less the public servants who are trying to seed fear to limit your opportunity to live your life. You must decide for yourself how to vote best, but do not forget the politicians of the mayor parties in the local countries always try to implement their political agenda because these politicians has the heritage of the party ideology which can affect your future. Vote as you like, political colour does not matter as long as you come to vote.
I vote and You???

The option is a part of every democratic social-political system. As we grow as Democrats,so the quality of our choice. This has nothing to do with the abstention for voting because actually it is an option that makes me extremely negative towards calls for compulsory voting. However, the exercise of the option would make the democratic system stronger, such as we all in Bulgaria want.
I've recorded my vote today.Bulgaria above everythingpeace

In response to: I vote and You???

And I didn’t.

The candidates are old Parteigenossen, there is not much difference between them whatever party they belong to – it’s the same nomenclatura as usual.

Anyway, I’d prefer to vote for a personality who has his or her own agenda and is able to get it through, not for one who has to submit to their party.

This European Union looks like the Sovietic Union... They are "building" a huge structure of power based on less then 30% of the votes of people in Europe. Corruption is going on, almost every where... It is raining in my village, I have to pay a taxi to vote, I HATE politicians? What should I do?

Vote, representative democracy? This Political system is finished in my opinion, as the economic system!!!!

Should I go? I think i will give them my absence as a way of protesting. They have their high salaries, to do what in Bruxels?
Laws and regulations which no body in taking care and to make us EUROPEANS. I don't want to be european. I am portuguese, period.

Please "europeans" take good care of Mr. Barroso, don't send himback we have enough like him.

Somebody to give me an opinion?

Hey, the less than 30% issue makes all sense.
Corruption is everywhere but not in the same proportion.
Democracy is being subject to "checks and balances" in every step politician take. This is not at all equal in all Europe. In some countries, Politicians are like celebrities, who's regular words are: "nothing to declare". Can you imagine how much this is hateful when I'm paying taxes?
In other countries, the prime minister is everday facing a "hard talk". This is the ideal to me.

More power to Europe? Well, the less 30% of voters denies it. I guess it means: Yes to EU but no to Federation or something close to that?

You don't want to be European? I do!

In any event, I think Barroso will not be back to PT, not to worry!laugh wave

Like it or not, the EU controls us. If enough peoople voted for politicians who actually gave a toss about the voters, then that would be a start. OK, you have to find a candidate who is worth voting for, but I'm sure that there are a couple of them kicking around.

70% of people don't even bother to vote; if even 10% got off their lazy backsides to vote for one decent candidate, maybe something might start to change. Many years ago, we had a woman representing an area of Scotland who campaigned long and hard for Scottish interests. They called her Madame Ecosse and she did make a difference.

Unfortunately, the candidates for parties other than those in power seem to be a bit crazy. Step forward someone who is looking out for the wee voter and who is not a raving lunatic!

In the end, though, if you don't vote, don't complain.

I used to support the EU early on, until they developed into another useless layer of bureaucracy that I cannot support with good conscience. ... sort of like the Feds in the US.

Even the seat allocation is unfair... no, I'm not participating.
