gingerb: I think it is easier if you are not alone. I would wish for you that you have someone to go places with and plan a future with. It would be so much easier for you then.

missspecial: Ok,for the mums and dads here with kids,
do you ever think what its going to be like when they are all gone and you are all alone?
Perhaps its already happened to some of you and you would like to share your experience here..

Personally i find it scary, the thought of the house being quiet.

Whats your views on it or have you even thought about it?

professor 3 down and 2 to go I really love how much quiter my house is now with the eldest 3 gone and when they visit oh boy is it stressful .............. frustrated they criticise the beahviour of their brothers and make out like they were silent angels when they were there age.and as for my parenting well I simply dont know what i am doing confused I musta donr something wrong with them

Im hoping each of them have a minimum of triplets on their first pregnancy it will give them lots of perspective laugh laugh

I look forward to the day when the lads are reared Ive other things I ned to do when that is sorted

4 years!!! It'll feel like 5 minutes!!

I thought I had forever..now it's here. I swore I was going to have a hobby, join a group, or something or someone to fill the space before my son leaves..I haven't.

My youngest daughter flew the nest last June and I thought horray....

That though was not my reality.....While it is great not to be the responsible parent any more, living in a quiet house with no blaring music and clothes all over the floor is lonely. Not having the same relationship with them, as they spread their wings is for me, the hardest part.

Cherish what you have with your children, build a strong bond and relationship with them, as it will comfort you, while they spread their wings.....

I found the empty nest harder than my marriage break-up!! Which shocked me, as I was not expecting the reaction I did have.

The biggest lesson I learned from that experience is, how important relationship is...............

And how important it is, to be my own best friend.

My experience for what it's worth.......
