I dont think love is toxic...jealousy, resentment, anger, envy - negative emotions that a person may feel if they dont have and miss love is what turns toxic.

More of a neurosis than a toxin or a cancer.The cure for unrequited love?...Get laid...It's only symptom relief but time takes care of the rest.

No, because I have self love, and I reflect that out into the world.
I have experienced a toxic love, but have freed myself from the toxic part of it. I still love him, but I refuse to let it be toxic to me anymore.
You make your choices in this life, and who and how you love can be one of them. Love is not logical, but we can be smart about it.

I have had it happen. I was hurt, and I became insecure for a time. However, as with every challenge we face there were lessons to be learned.
The biggest thing for me when it happened, was the point where I realized that I was insecure. My pride was hurt, and too much pride comes from insecurity. Had I been secure with myself, I would not have loved someone so much, who did not love me in return.
That's when I realized the issue was really my own. I needed to do some work on myself. I had to explore where I was in life, and what I was bringing into a relationship.
Then it became easier to see what it was that I wanted in someone else. What's more, by working on myslef, I developed enough self love to know I would only enter into mutually caring relationships.
