How patient are you with your elder parents, your partner, your children and even yourself?
Do you have to make an effort to grin and bear it when someone does a thread that doesn't interest you, or do you calm down and go with the flow?
If you aren't patient with someone, does it mean you are being disrespectful, not showing them courtesy or is it just a little flick in your personality that has nothing to do with being patient.
Being critical and being impatient......what's the differrence?
What does it take for someone to get on your nerves?

great thread Snuggs.
I am sa bit odd ( yes I know) I am very patient as a person with other people, family, friends, business clients, elderly etc & this has been an important trait with running my gardening/landscaping business.
Having played the piano since the age of 5 I have developed patience especially with practising.
BUT I do get very impatient especially with work related deliveries which can be nearly a day late or trades people who never arrive on the job site when asked. I guess its because I am so professional in my work ethics I expect the same level of professionalism

Okay.
I am patient with my father, I am patient most of the time with 'HIM'
I am patient with my son, but my daughter and I often have differences of opinion that make me want to shake her sometimes.
With a thread, no effort at all, I am either interested or not.
No, I don't think it means one is being disrespectful, we all have our thresholds for tolerance and if I lose my patience, I will say 'I am losing my patience with you' It by no means lessens anything I feel for them. I have a high threshold for people and the quirks in their behaviour.
Normally I pride myself in having "the patience of a boa constrictor", but there are a couple of people who can drive me beyond even my limits - sadly, my grandmother being one of these very few people. But I realize that for some it's some kind of a sport or entertainment to try another's patience, so it's ok, whatever makes her happy (I just make fewer visits to the nursing home where she lives, that's all).
And I think there's a world of difference between being critical and being impatient.

Hi Steve.......I am patient with almost everyone except my boss, an attorney. She will say I didn't do something and I'll say I did, or she'll say you didn't give me this or that and I'll tell her when I gave it to her. She'll be condescending and five minutes later she'll yell out of her office "I found it". My point is that I don't have patience with arrogant people.
I'm Patience.... 10'y alone... when I drive, eat, conversation, wait on line, in the store..etc.... If somebody don't have patience with me.... I looking for chewgum or popcorn and I watch they just to see like monkey jump around.....

Stupidty gets on my nerves. Totally.
Hi Sommer....If I have to explain something to someone how to do this or that, even if takes many times, I don't get impatient with them because I think I was born to be a teacher.

Thats so unfair , I donnot blame you or would i ever hold that against you for not having patieence for arrogant people. I have worked with people like that in the past & in one instance it made my life a living hell. Thankyou for sharing that about you.
I am patient. I have been running the same daycare for 18 yrs. I have the babies, of babies I used to care for. Even though I have never seen such triflin parents in my life, I am very patient when it comes to dealing with them.
I try not to let people get on my nerves, I tune them out. I just drift.

Good thread!
Hello Audrey....nice to meet you. Patience does come into play with the elderly. Funny you mention this because the other day my daughter and I were going at it because I couldn't remember something she said. I said to her that she better start thinking now about how she will handle it if I become an Alzheimers victim.
Patient is one of my my strengh points!!! I think in these days due technology and stuffs like that people are losing everyday more and more patient don't you think? Eveything now you can get it as quick as a click (for example). I think Tolerance and Patient are something that you have to force your self to have at least a little bit in order to not be so stress and get your goals in life.
