is it ok to direct people how to behave or what to say just because your the OP?
ALSO, if a member posts a thread to try and make sense of a bewildering situation of a disagreement, is that crossing the moral line?? especially if the member no longer has a profile here? so long as there is no naming that person, insults or offensive remarks about the other member is it ok with you to do that?
Don't think i would call it ownership, more like chairing a meeting, if that makes sense.
As for your second question, here I think that is often seen as trying to inflame the situation again, and they generally get locked or removed because they end up a fight. jmo
Well.. if you are having a conversation with a bunch of people at a dinner party, do you own that? Can you dictate what can or cannot be said whilst debating your thoughts about the soup of the day?
And what about talking about a friend of a friend of a ect. If they aren't there. Whether or not it's proper, doesn't matter at all. It's still done.
Think Einsteins theories. He's gone, can't defend himself. So I suppose we shouldn't try and figure out of he was right or wrong huh?
There's no morality about it. Not really. Carrying on a topic of discussion that a person who isn't around anymore cannot be controlled either.

yes true that about the second question....other people buy in (yes i'm guilty of that) to take sides, and it starts allover again, just between a new set of people fighting over who said what
