USThumper: We used to use it on gaskets and parts when assembling transmissions and engines. It disolves in the oil and dosent plug anything up.
I use it on small engines & it is quite good on chainsaw blades to protect them , it doesnt clog them up or affect their use.

BTW I dont use vaseline.
At least thats how we spell it.
I do use WD40 and old browngrease to lubricate a 120mm mortar

It makes a nice lip gloss.. can even tint with a little color from a lipstick if you like.. I like pink..
