Well, I do a bit of keep fit cos it gives me human contact. I have a boat and do a bit of fishing but weekends away and pampering myself are important too. I always like to do unusual things too so I travelled on a steam train on Wednesday and later this year I intend to swim with dolphins. There are certain bonuses in living alone!

your also a very lucky man to have a boat i must get me one of those id be on the shannon every week !!

My sister lives alone in Dublin and she goes hill walking with various groups. She also goes on walking holidays around Europe with them. Dont know where she found them to begin with but she has been doing it for years and has loads of friends.

I did a creative writting night course and met loads of new people, mabey theres something that you could take a class in? Photography, bridge, computers, woodwork you could check out the colleges/schools around you and see whats on offer
Ok no worries, doesnt matter if more people are here just for friends. The internet is the way people are socialising now and meeting people, whether for relationships or not. So its all good.
If you just want your whole though, go to plenty of fish. Thats a great site for emmmmmm, meeting people.

Thats funny Mark my old mates are the same and ive outgrown getting legless all the time,
and i totally agree this is a get together site rather than a dating site i actually had a thread on it but it didnt go down well with some people i think they thought i was judging them for going to meet ups !!

I reckon night classes are always a great way of meeting people.

This is very much a dating site, people just don't publicise who they date on the forums......
And the majority of users on here, are not on the forums. Don't get too disillusioned just yet.
