I tend to go for older men. I like a bit of experience..of life that is.
I wonder why its so common, girls seem to stay within a comfortable age range, guys seem to like the extremes. wonder why, lol

Not all guys...i dont think i could go out with anyone that is younger than 25 or 26...or older than 40...41.

Yeah I think common interests and needs are very important. Someone around our own ages is more likely to have similar outlook and wants.
I'm 42 and my kids are just about left..both in college from this month. If I was with someone of say 30..the odds are he would be looking for marriage and babies. I've done that and don't want to do it again.
Where as someone older has been through the same stages as I have and is likely to want similar things out of a relationship.

To be honest, I'd feel a bit like an idiot going around with someone the same age or younger than my son.
My usual limit would be about 5 years in either direction.

Thats what I mean, women like to stay within a comfortable age range. You always see like 40-50 year old men staring at young women (teens) at bus stops when driving by. The whole situation is just odd an baffling to me :)

I prefer an older man myself but I do like to check out the fit, good looking young men I see. Am so looking forward to my old age when I can shock the young male doctors/nurses in my retirement home by pinching their asses. I'm still too young to get away with that yet.
I never took any notice of older men checking out fine young things. My ex nearly crashed the car once years ago because he was watching this gorgeous young woman walking past. I couldnt really blame him, she was a total babe. I like to look at pretty girls too, and, sorry to disappoint but I dont have a lesbian bone in my body.
It does annoy me when 20/21 year old guys on here mail me and when I politely say I'm not looking for a young guy they say "age is only a number".

I think the thought of been with an older woman apeals to a lot of younger guys. Know it did for me when i dated a girl who was 10 years olders than me when i was 21 / 22.

Jaysus, I'm getting to an age that if I wanted an older woman, I'd need a spade and a cemetary.
maybe thats why when you get to a certain age you swing around and become interested in 20-30 year old women again!!!
It always depends on the maturity level. A few years back I dated someone who was 11 years my junior, but most men I know could have taken him as a role model. Our only problem was the distance, otherwise I would perhaps still be with him, who knows?
