If I mistakenly assumed, then I apologise, forthwith. I did read what you said about having a partner and therefore have no reason to hit on you. I was merely making the point, that I object to calling my offspring the same as a baby goat, whether that is in the English diction or not.
You are an intelligent lady, who, as an English teacher, should know that using derogatory remarks will lead to a whole generation of children calling their own children after goats JMHO

You should also know as an English teacher that words have different meanings, and it is your duty to explain to your students that "kid" does not only refer to a baby goat. If you encourage your students to look words up in the dictionary, as you should at times, then they will find a few definitions of "kid". Whether you like the term or not has no relevance to what you should be teaching your students.
In the same way you would explain the difference between American and British English...I hope.

jan...he hits on everyone..thats just his nature but hes completely harmless n lovable but just likes a bit of aggro now n then...and he's got 2 baby goats!....
