Probably no difference in the onion, just how it is prepared.
I've had onion soup in Spain but it is a clear to milky colour of soup but still very tasty. The French caramilze the onion until it is brown which does change the flavour and of course the visual experience....wine

A Scotch Broth, B Thick Vegetable, C Mulligatawny.

I like most but the next three would be Chicken & Mushroom, Asparagus, and French Onion.

FWIW - French Onion soup refers to how it is made and presented - not Onions grown in France.

See recipe

thumbs up

I've started to dabble a wee bit in soups; I like ginger and parsnip, French onion and I did a quite acceptable chicken and pasta number this week.

I remember oxtail soup at school. Even a million years later the thought of it makes me feel queasy.

Hello there wave So far on this thread I think I am the only one that could handle a bowl of oxtail and mushroom soup. I really like the sound of that actually, might give it a try idea
