After 4 years down South I guess the area has changed a lot.I went to Benidorm to the 1st tsunami fund raiser,but too commercialised for my taste. My brother lives in Gandia up the coast towards Valencia.

It's been many years since I visited.The cathedral by Gaudi is spectacular and just walking around and taking in the atmosphere is great. I guess La Rambles as still the same although there was some controversy over the bird selling as I recall.
It's very much a Catalan stronghold as you will see and they do try to isolate themselves from the rest of Spain as do the Basques.
It did come out top in a poll as the most popular city in the world to visit a few years back. Enjoy.
