is the worst IMO, because the ones who keep saying it don't believe in it themselves, but simply using this outdated stereotype in an attempt to cover up their own shortcomings.
It implies that women cannot get any higher in the business world, which mens that only men can get to the top. I beg to differ, with the exception of one company; every company I ever worked for was headed by women, very intelligent women.

I'm blond as can be and anything but, stupid. It irks me. I do realize that some women don't help by playing up said sterotype.
Oh god!! This one... Yes!
Many years ago I worked with this blond (as blond as they get) girl: tall, incredibly beautiful and exceptionally intelligent. Never met another girl quite like her.
Ever since, when I hear those blond jokes, I am puzzled what it's based on... LOL...
How about the stereotype about Gays? It's just so wrong to perpetuate that gays are irresponsible fools that follow their libido madly through life and couldn't possibly bring up a family as well as any hetero parents could. There are a similar percentage of gay parents bringing up children who are productive, well adjusted people yet they aren't permitted the basic human right of marriage in most states or to openly serve their country.
All stereotypes are annoying, but inevitable. We're human after all. if you've gone on holiday to Mexico and had a horrible time, you tend to think negatively of the place, don't you? it's the same with people you meet. it's a human way of learning from experience. However, keeping an open mind is a challenge, but worth the effort.

And why?
