What was the last gift you received from someone that brought tears of happiness to your eyes.
I don't mean that he/she gave you a divorce.
It doesn't matter if it was from your "ex". At one point there were good times with him/her. The focus is on the gift, not the person.
Please share with us the gift you received that surprised you to the point of emotion.
I collect Marilyn Monroe photographs. A few years ago I saw a black and white photograph of her that I wanted but it was out of my price range. My daughter knew that I wanted it and one Christmas morning I opened a box, that looked like a shirt box, and the photograph was in there. There were other people in the room and they thought I lost my marbles when they saw me choke up with tears rolling down my face over a photograph of Marilyn Monroe.

I got a flower and acceptness from an old friend...
My sister and I had been to the cemetary to put flowers on my dads' grave. As I was getting into the car to leave, she handed me a paper bag, inside was a photograph of my dad which she'd found and had framed for me. It was so unexpected to see his face that tears came to my eyes. It now has pride of place in my lounge and I often talk to him if there's something on my mind.

OMG Merk, that must have been a truly emotional moment. She is a very thoughtful lady. And I bet when you look at them now, you remember back to that day when she gave them to you.

What a beautiful story Smile. I am a mother and I know how your dad feels when I can be helpful to my daughter. Don't take that away from him even though you are a businesswoman.

It was a b~day card by my then 18 yr old daughter that simply read "Mom, your heading for the clouds of sweetness and love and you are the best mommy any girl could ask for, and remember I love you. Then the card sang "You'll be in my heart" by Phil Collins.

If my daughter sent that to me I would be bawling. I'm glad it brought you happiness.
So far, Lostrebel is the only man that has received a gift that brought him to tears.
If there are men reading this thread, who had an emotional moment when someone gave you a special gift, I understand that you might be uncomfortable telling us that you have a soft side to you.
I'm willing to bet that the majority of the regular men who post in the threads have had a tearful moment when someone gave them the gift they always wanted.
It was probably half a year ago, i was getting close with a gorgeous fella.. We chatted lots and late. After another late niter, i woke up and read his FB status updates "been having great time and laughs (-writes down my name-) looking forward to more... Happy days xx" am glad to know i made someone smile and laughed and it was appreciated and acknowledged.. I was over the moon :)
I guess the main gift that made me cry was when my daughter and I were struggling to survive when I was out on workers comp. I had just gotten out of the hospital from having stroke symptoms. I had very little money and was counting at change at the dollar store to buy soap and toilet paper. This woman behind me paid my things I was gonna buy. After she did that I cried, and thanked her. I also told her I heard you talking to your friend about your husband being in the hospital for a stroke, I told her I also just got out for the same thing, I had a stent put in my heart. She also cried then and said this was a gift from God for me to help you then..
