bluejayway5705: Her original intention was to come to Australia to meet me,and she was paying her own airfare. She also told me that she didn't want any man paying for her ,because she was self supportive.Yesterday she told me ,the fare is $1,450 to Australia, and because she's paid a lot of bills(we all get em),she only has $900 left and could I send her $500 by money transfer. Her thoughts are these; She loves me,and I love her,and we want to be together as a couple,so we should both put money in for the airfare..As much as I'm trying to trust her,i fee like I'm being hurt by another scammer, yet again. We've been amilng, texting, and phoning for 3 months.Advice please.

Just NO!! This is a huge red flag! So is the accent as several others have also said. I think you already know the answer to this question. If everything was fine you wouldn't be having these gut feelings. Trust your initial suspicions. Just my .02

Aha, thanks for that. I've got plenty of men who want to correspond off this site, so it always makes me leery. After I say no, they generally don't bother to write anymore.

How do you trace an IP?? I've seen that mentioned a few times, but I've no idea how its done.

You have to get their email address first. If you don't have it yet, don't get it. If they get yours they could put you on a scam/phishing list. If you have the email address, I will send you info on tracing through profile.
I don't know how the profiles are from men but from women scammers they go like this....usually 29-31, want marriage,
want your email to chat there, usually use a double name(sounds like someones real name, ie. first and last, are looking for someone 40-70. How many red flags do you need.
When I had some spare time over holidays I used to amuse myself with them. I could have been talking to a fat ugly hairy smelly man. 100 million dollar a year biz in Nigeria. WOWdoh

Thank you. O yes, I know all about accents. I have one myself, you can tell I was not born and raised in Canada. I have a friend in Paris that I met in Paris when I worked for BT Europe. She is from England. When I met her she had been in Paris for 2 years and was 32 years old. It was as if she just got off the boat in Calais! with typical English accent. You don't get rid of your accent overnight, especially when you entered the new region with a different accent after age 15, I have been told.

That woman is a scammer. First she had the money, she could afford the plane ticket by herself, now she is short by $500! Sounds very suspicious. Didn't she have the bills to pay initially? She should have planned better and managed her money properly. I do. I have a budget and even plan for incidentals in my monthly budget. I am not rich, I have no money left over each month but I live according to my means and my income.

bluejayway5705: I met my lady friend on cs. After emailing, texting, and phone calls, she wants to meet me. She was born in the U.K. Her father was English . Her mother was malaysian. She is 32,and was living in the U.K. for 31 yrs,and has lived in Malaysia for 12 months only .Her accent is mixed(70% Malaysian/ 30% English )I feel like I'm being scammed again.Your thoughts would be appreciated.

You already have doubts and that in itself should send the alarm bells ringing. uh oh If your lady isnt financialy independant, why is she seeking love out of her district ? and you say she had money , but spent it on bills ??? . now she will make all kinds of excuses as to prolong your meeting but will still keep asking you for money and she will tell you what ever you want to hear to get it out of you. If you have a doubt it is your gut instinct warning you something (could) be wrong and it probably is ... Be VERY CAREFUL. why would you want to give your all to someone you havent even seen ???????????? web cam. go and visit on vacation anything but not just give your money away. Good Luck thumbs up

Me too. I ran across someone who claimed to be American, normally lives in Georgia, USA, was in the UK at the time for some project he is working on, with an Irish accent. Spoke to him a few times on the phone. Believed him but had my suspicions. At least he was not Nigerian. I can tell from the accent. Then after 4 weeks of talking on the phone he asked me for a loan that he will repay, huge sum of money. Got mad when I said I don't have the money to lend him. He loved me too, wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Used to call me "sweetie" and "darling". Thank God I wasn't born yesterday!

Trecker: I think you better hold off on sending money. I dealt with these before. Not scammed but as a hobby. Trace their IP. In 100% of the cases(I did) their email originates in Nigeria or Ghana. And some say they live and raised in London. They can't put a sentence together. I had one about an hour ago and her email is from Nigeria. Handed to CS and she is off the air.
Be careful. They do this for a living and have no concience.
AND SO DO YOU TRECKER!

bohdiprana: Scammers get removed because they make mass mailings to many many people.

No offence but, you sound like you want to make excuses so you can be scammed again.

Does her present pic match up with profile pic. Have you seen her on webcam? If she says she doesnt have one, tell her to get one and take it off the 900$ she is putting up for a plane. They're pretty cheap.

Tell her to send you $900 and you'll pay for the ticket from your end, no big deal; then you're not handing over money and account info. Then you just send her the seat assignment and flight intinerary... easy peasy.

Don't make excuses bud, make inquiries.

check out her profile ID on scam websites, check out her name and ask for any name she has ever had, married and otherwise. Don't be a victim, get your head out of and take action. Sorry....

wow very good advicethumbs up thumbs up
