NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: I have my limbs, but have burns, over 170 stitches and four major head injuries.
My body looks better than most and my pheromones will attract most men.
Are they worthy of me is the question?

lushguy4you: that is a good question

like you i dont have burns but lost limbs as in fingers in an accident and yet live a normal life joking about my loss and yet it turns some people off.

I always look at the same question

I am not like you two, my disablities do not show up, until people get to know me or they figure it out when they realize I am not aware they are trying to get my attention.

My speech is so close to normal that others are shocked when I let them know I am deaf. I have only had three people in my life that knew I was deaf, from the first we talked. Two said it was b/c they had a deaf family member, the other and one of the family members said it was b/c if you listen very closely, the nuances and inflection is just slightly off.

Contrastly, in the work world, I have had Supervisors/Human Resource Personnell accuse me of lying on my Application about the deafness. . . . Go figure.

In any case, I too, ask the same question.

My heart out to the both of you Fellow Sister and Brother in the same boat.

DynamiteLuv: What if they were once beautiful/handsome when you marry them but was disfigured very badly in a horrible accident that will leave them that way for life?

My honest answer would be No.

What about you?

Never..Of course you could not leave when they needed you most.

Reminds me of this...So very sad..

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always
there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see
the world, I will marry you.'
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her.. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her
boyfriend.

He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her
saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before
they were yours, they were mine.'

l0tim0l: No. I have spent so long seaching and waiting. If I found true love, and got married I would Do anything to Keep that.

Through sichness and health, till death do us part. Sounds pretty unconditional to Me.

Very much so. Once I get there and find that special someone, then in all honesty I would never leave them no matter the physical disability side of things.

Its strange I actually thought about this @ one stage some time back about somebody I really wanted to develop a relationship with, and if anything drastic was to ever happen, I would always be there no matter what

Exactly how disfigured are we talking about? If it is like that poor lady who had her face and eyes ripped out by that monkey on oprah?,then I could not look at that kind of horrifying disfigurement everyday.

Then why did you marry him in the first place - - - - - Then your oath, pledge - - what ever was a lie, and you have double standards - - - - how would you feel if the tables would be turned - - - - ?

trurorob: It doesnt always work like that, I am sorry but No has simplified the issue and it is a very difficult issue. The injured party may instigate the other leaving because their love is so strong they would feel they are ruining their partners life. You are also forgetting the mental scars and changes that could occur with this type of awful injury. people change and sometimes not for the better and drive a partner away no matter how much they love them.
I am still afraid that NO is a very simple answer to a very fifficult life changing occurance.

You have a point, and I completely agree with you - - - - - simple YES - - - or NO is to simplified, to many factors one has to take in to account - - - -

Here is something to ponder.....Lets just say for instance that your husband was disfigured in a terrible fire and his face and arms are badly damaged.....Now lets further speculate that his "attitude" toward life because of the tragedy has deteriorated to the point that he is no longer the same person and he is constantly treating you like the hired help.
It is not hard to see why some people dont stick around. They get to the breaking point and they start changing drastically themselves.....is it no wonder that people are unpredictable and flee under these circumstances....it`s called fear and we all deal with it in a different manner......
