Jimi123499: Better idea, bring your clothes here Kez and we can use my Simpson, it's a top loader and uses front loader detergent, bit of both flavours....I will help you fold them up when they're dry.......

wave Hey Jimi

I looked at those simpsons that are a bit of both....

Blizzard14u: I use a 7kg LG front loader, if I can work it out anyone can, and kizzy27 the slow timer can be changed to a quick cycle? But the slow timer uses less power and water,
My LG is 6 years old, no maintenance cost, and it has moved house 5 times in the back of a truck!
I can even wash my queen size donnas in it,
If it ever requires a maintenance man I will just throw it out and buy a new one as it is way out of warranty,

No cloths were harmed in this thread

Hi Kez

I think I would go a front loader. They are better on water and more energy efficient . I have an Electrolux that hasn't let me down , but if I were you I think I would go with the LG's . They seem like a really good brand .Probably about a 6 or 7kg bowl .

i do a lot of home insurance claims from water damage, and i have to repair the damaged plaster, and from what ive seen over 30 yrs of doing it is most of the trouble relating to damage from washing mashines was from cheap front end loaders.i think your best bet is to get a good priced top loader,or a top priced front loader if you had the money to buy it.ive got a kleen maid, which are now out of business but its 20 yrs old and still going, but it was dear.[save up your money and get a heavy duty top loaderthumbs up ]

Stayed in a flat when my daughter was in hospital and used the front loader and left it happily washing away. When I returned the flat was flooded the catch on door had to be replaced.I think front loaders and myself are not meant to be together.

And why did I buy a front loader? They use less water and less power than top loaders and at the time I brought my machine the state Gov here were giving you back $150
