orlistat work by combinin with the fatty oils in foods you eat, preventin digestion.

amphetamines suprpess appetite.

altho, pardon me for sayin, ye be lookin fine in ye pics, no need for weight loss at all at all.

thumbs up Agreed, no need to be worrying about weight loss when you're a stunner wink

I kinda work in this field and there's loads of fad's out there and a few great products that do work so for anyone who is interested...

Ali obviously works, it's got 20 million of research pumped into it by GSK and they completely took top spot in the market when it was released. Has some pretty bad side effects though. What Ali does is block 50% of the fat in foods being absorbed by your body. BUT - many fats are good for us. Omega oils, etc, are all fatty acids and Ali blocks these being absorbed also.

CLA is a naturally occuring fatty acid in food and helps the body convert fat into lean muscle tissue. It has numerous other health benefits for example, it will help lower cholesterol, improves skin tone. It's still being researched in a big way and every year they find something else it's helpful for. Best CLA on the market is one called Tone and Slim (who of course I don't work for grin )

Then there's a range of weight loss programmes - meal replacement. Lipotrim would be the longest established of these. Developed by the NHS for patients who need to lose weight for an operation. Basically you take a shake, soup, etc instead of a meal. It has all the nutrients your body needs. Few weeks of this and the weight fall's off. Downside - it's effectively starving yourself. When you begin eating normally again, your body stores extra fat for the anticipated "starvation period" that will come up. Natural defence mechanism in our metabolism.

Can I ask you; how exactly does this work? Surely the only way to get more muscle tissue in the body is by ingesting more protein?confused

Steer clear of diet pills they only mess up your inards and they are expensive. The ones on prescription from your doctor even those ones have side effects. You would be better off using the money on a gym membership or going to a dietician and cutting down on the alcohol.
Basically eat less and move more and there are no quick fixes to dropping the pounds.

BUT!!!! to be honest girl you look fab as you are.

roll eyes

Not what I said in my post at all - on the contrary, I pointed out the negative effects diet pills can have.

A supplement is an entirely different matter, and there are many weight loss supplements on the market.

Fair play Jackie. That's some result! thumbs up

I'd a mad diet regime when I was younger. Worked quite well as in I lost 5 stone. Would not recommend it though as it was probably the unhealthiest way anyone could lose weight!

weight loss supplements are rhubarb too
the best thing you can do is eat a balanced diet and get plenty of exercise
any dietician worth his salt will tell you that
vitamin tablets are the only thing id take or an iron supplement for pregnant women is ok too but im not an expert

Balanced diet all too true for maintaining a healthy weight, yes. Losing weight is a different story. Some people do not have the hard working ethic that say, our girl here has, to work that hard and achieve meaningful results.

Nothing wrong with supplements. For example, I take echinea - works wonders for the immune system.
