ladyfingers: You DO realize, don't you, that the Bible has been translated several times over the years.
Have you ever played the game "gossip"
Try it sometime and see what the original statement is changed to after it's been whispered around the room a few times.
So, just WHAT is your point?????????
The original books that they came from still exist, and have been translated from the original to keep the spirit of the text.
It isn't a game of gossip, it has been shown time and time again that, for the most part, the bible is a very true representation of what the original texts held.
There are no remaining original printings of the bible, but there ARE still all of the scrolls from which they were transcribed. The different gospels still exist.
Example: If you will look at puncuation....you will find that Christ said to the thief who defended him that he was telling him today (that day)....not that he would be in paridise today. Don't feel bad....most Christians have that silly mistake also. Some Bibles have it correct and some wrong. Learn more about your Bible and you will see the need to go to the scriptures. I can show you true errors in transalation that are not in the scriptures.
I say unto you today, you will still be silly Saturday
It is so easy for your type of people to throw out all sorts of confused thinking and then it takes a long time for a sound thinking person to take each one and explain it correctly....to a person who can't even understand simple things.
I don't have time to clean up your silly thinking! I have heard plenty of this kind of silliness and each one can and has been the findings of unsound lazy thinking. If you will spend more time finding answers instead of copy and pasteing other silly lazy people you would never write such foolishness and try to hurt anothers faith.
The day will come you will regret your foolish pursuit and wish you had looked for the truth.
Judas did hang himself. As his body rotted the head was pulled off and he fell headlong and his rotted body burst open and his intestines spilled out. Judas was never buried....his corpse decayed on the ground.
You error as to why it is called the field of blood.
RillyNiceGuy: You need to understand about souls. You do error!

And what is the piont to the thread?? being fixated on words that were written from verbal reports some over 100 years is piontless focusing on small crontradictions also life is full of them I think it's better to find your own tuths. essence of god is beyong our understanding just do unto other's as you would have them do to you.. it's easy and hard
It is my experience that many Muslims try to evade a discussion of the real issues regarding the truth of Islam and Christianity by pushing "101 Bible Contradictions" (or similar compilations) into our face. There are a number of Muslim web sites which are abound in articles and collections attacking the integrity of the Bible by means of contradiction lists. Some Muslims, to me, have the attitude that "because the Bible is riddled with contradictions, errors, absurdities and problems, there is no need for them to make the effort to understand it."
With such an attitude no real dialog, as is currently happening with the author of this thread, develops. Whilst I must confess I have not read either books from page to page and I will freely admit that neither holds much value to me as an atheist I would like to attempt to inspire a response from the author of these threads since he has simply copied and pasted exerts from Muslim based websites,
So here goes:
Dear Outalb
The Qur'an states that “it is a perfect book preserved on tablets in heaven” (Surah 85:21-22).
If the Qur'an is a perfect book from Allah, then there shouldn't be any contradictions in it. Indeed you, Outalb that is, may deny any contradictions exist in the Qur'an, but I am convinced that they do.
To me a contradiction occurs when one statement on a subject excludes the possibility of another. Below is a good example. In Surah 19:67, it states that man was created out of nothing. In 15:26, man is created from clay. Since clay is most certainly something, we have a contradiction since "nothing" excludes the possibility of "clay." Both cannot be true.
Outalb Please help us, here, in the forums of CS, to understand your view on this contradiction and if you have time (cutting and pasting does not take that long) please outline your agenda and purpose to the 4 threads that you have posted
I'm going to clear this up for those that are bible illiterate.
1) The thief on Jesus' right side did not mock Him. There was more than just one criminal being killed that day. It was the Passover and as such, those convicted to die close to that day were held until the Passover. Another thing you fail to state is that the book of Mark is a much more brief dis-closer of the events of Christ than the other gospels.
2)Yes Jesus DID ascend to Paradise that same day. Again you have no understanding of what Paradise is. It is NOT heaven, but a place where the dead (who feared God) went until the day of redemption (Christ's sacrifice). It's referred to as Hades. Also, like most people, you left out the reason Mary was told that by Christ...she was holding onto Him. Mary wanted to hold onto the physical Jesus in fear of losing Him for good, but Jesus made it clear He was only here now for a short time.
3)Okay, this one is simply a case of you not understanding what you read. In Acts 22:9 Paul said they heard the voice but didn't understand what was said. I'll leave it at that.
4)Yes they did all fall to the ground. Paul said they all fell and that makes sense seeing how that is their custom...even today, that's how they show their respect to a "god". Just because it doesn't mention it in Acts 9:7 does not negate the fact they all did fall down. Luke (the author of Acts) was writing down events in Acts 9:7. In Acts 26:14, Luke was quoting Paul.
5)No God did not tell Paul everything He wanted Paul to do on the road. And this is not a contradiction (as you are trying so hard to prove). Because the bible never teaches God did. And your assessment of Acts 26:16-18 is skewed because Paul was relaying what happened to him to a King. Therefore, Paul wanted to be brief and yet include the essentials.
6)In 1 Corinthians 10:7 Paul quoted from Exodus 32. In 1 Corinthians 10:8, Paul was also referring to the same event in Exodus 32 where 3000 died at the hands of the Levites (Ex 32:28) and 20,000 died by the plague (Ex 32:35).
7)Okay, you really need to learn to read or simply stop deceiving people. Genesis 4 & 27 has nothing to with Acts 7:14. The answer is 75.
8)Judas did not buy the field himself, but gave all the 30 pieces of silver to the priests. The priests in turn went and bought the field. What Luke did in Acts, was attributed the "buying" of the field to Judas. Because it was still Judas' money. For the priests could not accept "blood" money.
9)Judas went and hung himself. The tree Judas hung himself with was on the edge of a cliff. After some time, either the rope broke or the branch broke, but Judas fell from the tree and his body was shattered on the rocks below.
10)It is called Field of Blood because they bought it with blood money.
11)In Proverbs 21:18, the wicked suffering the very thing they devised for the righteous, the wicked became their ransom. In the sense of being a substitute in judgment. In the New Testament, Christ became the substitute also. The Righteous for the unrighteous. But "for many" & "for all" does not mean for all mankind. But only for "all", "many" that call on the name of Christ. For even Jesus separated those that are His and those that are not (John 10:22-39).
RillyNiceGuy: Your contraditions are just silly!Example: If you will look at puncuation....you will find that Christ said to the thief who defended him that he was telling him today (that day)....not that he would be in paridise today. Don't feel bad....most Christians have that silly mistake also. Some Bibles have it correct and some wrong. Learn more about your Bible and you will see the need to go to the scriptures. The "point" to the thread is disprove God as either a lie or to show the bible as false. And there are many more out there just like him than not.
Brothers, sisters! let us not fight and be down hearted over the words of any old books whatever language it is written in. let us come together as one and like John Lennon said, Give peas a chance. But don't take this too literally it is OK to treat ALL vegetables and legumes with the same respect as we offer peas!

It's all as daft as believing in Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny to me. As for John Lennon what did he mean by," Come together, right now, over me."? YUK

Tis' ok. When you die, you will know what John Lemon knows.
