Anyone familiar with Windows 7 ??
I am running it on my laptop and somehow I locked myself
out of my administrative account on my own laptop. doh
The touchpad mouse/cursor is thus frozen.
I was alble to create a guest account by using the tab button and arrow keys. However, this account does not let me into my administrative account where everything is. How the heck do I unlock my own administrative account ?? dunno I see a "lock" task, but no unlock task. HELP !!!!!! help

Try going into your admin account from a safe mode and see what you can do from there.

WOW and I guess you can't recover password since you can't get into system. I had a company that was online that goes into your computer and takes access while you watch they can fix anything. Not sure the charge for one time use year all the time anytime is $149 if you want to go that route. Really sorry couldn't help.

OK, I got it mostly solved thanks in part to everyone.

I did a search for a "free password resetter Windows 7" and got this site;

I downloaded the program & then burned a CD with the program. With it, I rebooted off of it (press F2) and then deleted my old password. Then, I get a message "to create a new password and get back into your programs buy the complete program from our company". Hmmmm. So just for the heck of it, I tried giving a new password to my administrator account and lo & behold, I was successful. The cursor still doesn't work there, however. BUT, I then went to my guest account and gave it permission to have access to my administrator account after again submitting the new password. It worked !!! The first thing I did was to download all my newly edited photos to my portable 1.5 TB harddrive. Yipeeee ! Thanks everyone for the help. applause

Try this first..:professor
if it does not work..
Don't fret or worry.. cause
there are various "other" ways
to "by-pass" one's passwords...typing
Left click on "start"..
now type in "cmd"..
now hit "enter"...
command mode (dos black window)
should now pop up...
in THAT window.. type EXACTLY..
(NOT the quote marks..!!)
"net user administrator /active:yes"
(this will then give you the HIDDEN admn account)
now.. re-start your computer..
then access THAT NEW admn account..
(that you have now created)
use THAT account to change/delete/etc,
whatever you want to do to the OTHER account
you "forgot" password in..
when done..
AGAIN hit "start"..
type in "cmd".. then enter..
when command mode comes up again..
type in.. "net user administrator /active:no"..
then your bios and stuff will still remain secure..
it is NO good (unless you ARE a programmer like me..!!)blushing
to allow the "hidden admn" to be active..
that is why it IS hidden..!!doh
Hope this helps...
If you need more.. either see/join my group here at CS,
or advise me..comfort
I remain,
Respectfully & Sincerely,nerd

If worse comes to worse..
you can always do a "ophcrack".. (it's ezzzzzyyyy... grin )

---SB---cheers
