somechick: I make spelling mistakes whether it be typing on the computer or writing someone out in long hand. When the day comes that I become so pefect as to not make mistakes myself then I'll have the right to complain about someone else.I'm just not into perfection I suppose. It's not someones mispelling that turns me off it's all the dirty words they use ,if the wording comes off overly mushy or they include their email addies.
See I'm not perfect I mispelled the word something.

Mz_Macouer: I'm new to this site but omg..what is up with spell check? First impression plays a BIG part in whether the party of interest responds back or not. I dont understand how a person can write a message to you and every other other word is mispelled and then you go check out their profile and boom..speling mistakes all over the place. That is such a turn off to me..smh
If you went out, met a guy really got on great, started seeing him, then found out he had a problem with spelling would that change the way you felt and stop you seeing him?
For most people spelling is not an issue. We have had many threads pertaining to spelling. It may be an issue with some, as it was with me in the beginning, but now I go with the flow. What does bother me now is...JMHO or IMO. Believe me this "just my humble opinion" these little words are very prevalent. Argh! But maybe my brain will delete these "JMHO" letters subconsciously and my eyes will not offend me.

I do see her point. Given how the younger generation is spelling the English language terrible, I can see the concern. The problem with not spelling correctly or using slang words mostly, is that a lot is left for interpretation on the receivers end. And a lot of disagreements are simply because of misunderstanding. I'm sure the cop that is writing you a ticket is very concerned about spelling correctly.
From a lot of what I see how the younger people are spelling these days, I can see generations coming after them being more illiterate when it comes to spelling correctly.

Morgan, you have no idea how many women put that in their profile, "If you can't spell correctly, I have no interest". I see your point and agree. But this OP's turn off is nothing new.
