Doesn't do you much good though when she's in Ireland and you're here, unless you have the wherewithal to travel. (free time and money) LDR relationships can get complicated and end up in disaster sometimes. But good luck with it if you decide to pursue it. cheers

Probably several people on this CS Forums International Threads haven't thought it through on how they would make a LDR work.

You're right Big John, acting on impulse or romantic notions initially can result in people getting hurt or worse. I received a death threat due to an LDR gone bad and I won't elaborate and nothing came of it. I wasn't very concerned as I figured it was a bunch of bull anyway. But all sorts of complications can ensue if you don't do your homework first.

All I can think to say is.. Holy Crap.. seriously, a death threat...dunno I will never understand people... but yes, much thought must be put into a LDR.. I am dealing with one that is failing and it is not an easy thing... Did everything I could to make it work, but in the end there was not enough together time...cheers

Really? The best relationship I had was LDR! We were forced to communicate on a deeper level..our bond was so strong because of it. Yes it was hard and we missed each other..but when we did meet up....wow. I found that not having to be in each others daily lives helped us not fight over the petty things..and we cherished the time we had together. Only reason it ended was we were young and our lives headed in different directions. Still to this day..when we talk...there's still something there.

Yes I'm not joking. I also got called every choice name in the book, but just acted civil, cool, and collected in return which probably added more fuel to the fire laugh Anyway , yeah together time is a huge factor, then you have to figure who is going to uproot their life and move to a new country and start a new life , as I said it can get complicated. Good luck to you. cheers
